Foodhism Monthly - The Myanmar Issue - April 2025

Welcome to the latest issue of Foodhism Monthly. Foodhism focuses on food culture, food travel, food news, recipes, and all other delicious food related articles.

In late March 2025, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Southeast Asia, inflicting extensive damage in Myanmar, with the epicenter located near Mandalay, the country’s second-largest city. The earthquake compromised the city’s airport, distorted roadways, and resulted in the collapse of hundreds of buildings across a broad area in the central region.

Additionally, a 6.4 magnitude aftershock exacerbated the situation, resulting in further destruction. The earthquake has left many homes severely damaged, disrupting families' ability to prepare meals and meet basic needs.

This special issue is all about the complicated but beautiful Myanmar and its relatively unknown cuisine. It is dedicated to those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck the country on March 28th.

100% of the proceeds from this issue will be donated to Global Medic and World Central Kitchen to help in the recovery process.
